প্রবর্ত্তক পত্রিকার ১৫ শ্রাবণ ১৩২৭ [৫ম বর্ষ, ১৪ সংখ্যা] সংখ্যায় ‘শোক-সংবাদ’ শিরোনামে (পৃ: ৩৩৬) লেখা হয় : আমরা অতিশয় শোকসন্তপ্তচিত্তে জানাইতেছি যে, শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংসদেবের পুণ্যময়ী সহধর্মিণী শ্রীশ্রীসারদাদেবী বিগত ৪ঠা শ্রাবণ মঙ্গলবার রাত্রি দেড় ঘটিকার সময় বাঙ্গালীকে শোকসাগরে ভাসাইয়া মহাযোগে অনন্তধামে প্রয়াণ করিয়াছে। এর দুই মাস পরে Prabuddha Bharat September 1920 [Vol. 25, No. 290, pp. 200—205] সংখ্যায় মাতৃরূপা, সেবাব্রতা সারদাদেবী প্রসঙ্গে ‘The Holy Mother’ শীর্ষক আলোচনায় মহেন্দ্রনাথ গুপ্ত মন্তব্য করেছেন: সারদাদেবীর বিশ্বাস ছিল শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ ও কালীর রূপের প্রকাশ এক ও অভিন্ন। সারদাদেবীর আবির্ভাবতিথির পূর্বলগ্নে The Modern Review, November 1920 [Vol. xxviii, No. 8] সংখ্যায় ‘Indian Periodicals’ বিভাগে (p. 535) উক্ত রচনার আলোচনা প্রসঙ্গে মহেন্দ্রনাথ রচিত প্রবন্ধের অংশবিশেষ উদ্ধৃত হয়। এস্থলে বঙ্গানুবাদ-সহ উক্ত অংশটি উপস্থাপিত হলো। “The Holy Mother” “The Holy Mother”, by which name the wife of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa was known to his disciples and followers, was a remarkable woman in her way. Some glimpses of her spiritual and benignant figures can be obtained from a character sketch of the revered lady published in the Prabuddha Bharata. When “in August, 1886, the soul of Sri Ramakrishna passed off into regions immortal.” In pursuance of an orthodox Hindu custom, the Holy Mother was putting off her ornaments, and was about to take off the bangles, when quite unexpectedly she saw the radiant form of Sri Ramakrishna who seized her hands and forbade her to remove the bangles, saying he was just as he had been, and there was no need for her to take the mourning weeds. So, the Holy Mother retained the bangles, and from that day arranged for regular daily worship and food-offering to Sri Ramakrishna. She knew that it was Mother Kali who moved amongst men in the form of Sri Ramakrishna, and it is said...
